ASTM A387 is the technical delivery standard covering the supply of chrome molybdenum pressure vessel alloy steel plates.

The ASTM A387 Grade Boiler Plates specification is the Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Alloy Steel, Chromium-Molybdenum plates used in the application of welded boilers and pressure vessels subjected to elevated temperatures. The two grades SSAB produces are available as Class 1 and/or Class 2.

Boiler plate  is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, power plant, boiler, etc, and  used to make the reactor, heat exchanger, separator, spherical tank, gas cylinder, liquid tank, nuclear power reactors island, boiler drum, liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, high pressure water pipes, turbine hydropower station equipment and components such as spiral case.
