-- March.7 Commerce Department China, Comment on Shengze Index
Monday, Commerce Department China- Shengze Silk and Chemical Fiber Index increased 0.04 compared with last weekend, and closed at 98.47. Among these, the chemical fabrics price index increased 0.02 and closed at 97.42; the chemical fiber index closed at 101.61, increased 0.08.

Today, the spring-summer fabrics’ selling prices partly increased in Shengze Market. For example, Elater Satin 50D*75D+40D’s quotation is 5.5 Yuan/M now, increased 0.5 Yuan/M compared with the beginning of this year. 20D+26D/20D+26D Compounded Chiffon is quoted 5.2 Yuan/M on market, increased 0.7 Yuan/M compared with the beginning of this year. 600D Oxford now is quoted 5.8 Yuan/M; increased 0.4 Yuan/M. If considered the reasons, the general increase of upstream chemical yarns and cotton yarn, as well as the influence of the increased labor cost after lunar New Year will be the main causes. As for the products sales, 70D*21S Pearly Ribbon Nylon/Cotton did very good. As leading product of spring-summer apparel fabrics, although it isn’t the latest one, the demand of it is quite large. The 70D*21S Pearly Ribbon Nylon/Cotton is mainly used for making women’s casual wear, fashion clothes and suits. Its market offering is around 7.95 Yuan/M. The sales volume of the routine products including 310T half-stretch Pongee and 190T Taffeta is also increasing today. As for the operating rate of machines, the water-jet and air jet looms’ is over 80%.

Analyzed from the chemical fiber side, it became sold well under the influence of the increasing downstream fabrics sales. The PTA showed rising tendency afterwards, however, affected by the national policy and the downstream demand, its performance became ordinary. At present, its normal spot exchange price is 11,750 Yuan/ton and the closing price is 11,650-11,700 Yuan/ton.
As for the polyester yarn prices, the overall situation is smooth and partly increased. Now POY 75D/144F is quoted 17,660 Yuan/ton; POY 75D/72F is quoted 17,450 Yuan/ton; FDY 50D/48F is quoted 20,000 Yuan/ton and low-stretch DTY 150D/48F is quoted 16,700 Yuan/ton. Although the present polyester material price is shaking repeatedly, the operating rate of the weaving machines in most weaving factories is back to normal. It is predicted that the polyester price will mainly be stable and part of the products will have rise in price.
