The polyester yarn price is mainly consolidating in Shengze, China today. The local mainstream manufacturers stabilized the quotations. Now a local direct spinning manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/24F for 19,900 Yuan/ton (6-month Acceptance), DTY 75D/72F 21,600 Yuan/ton (6-month Acceptance) and POY 75D/72F 18,100 Yuan/ton (6-month Acceptance). Another local melt spinning manufacturer quoted low-stretch DTY 150D/48F for 18,000 Yuan/ton and FDY 50D/48F 20,000 Yuan/ton. The other manufacturer quoted FDY 40D/24F for 19,500 Yuan/ton. The manufacturer reported that yesterday’s sales were weak but the downstream straddle attitude was strong. The polyester price in Taicang is stable. Now a local manufacturer quoted POY 75D/72F for 17,750 Yuan/ton (3-month Acceptance) and FDY 50D/24F for 19,100 Yuan/ton (Spot Exchange). The manufacturers said the downstream market was still holding back and the production-marketing was dull. The polyester price is still consolidating in Zhang Jiagang. Now a local mainstream manufacturer quoted light FDY 40D/24F for 19,100 Yuan/ton (Spot Exchange). Although the quotation keeps the same, in practical transaction, the manufacturers have already given some privilege.
The polyester yarn price is still in deadlock in Xiao-Shao Market. A local mainstream manufacturer in Xiao Shan quoted FDY 66D/24F for 17,900 Yuan/ton and low-stretch DTY 150D/48F for 16,500 Yuan/ton. Another POY manufacturer quoted POY 150D/144F for 15,050 Yuan/ton and 75D/72F 16,900 Yuan/ton. The manufacturers said that the early inquiry atmosphere became warmer. The polyester price is still unchanged in Tong Xiang. Local manufacturers’ quotations keep steady. Now a local manufacturer quoted POY 150D/144F for 15,600 Yuan/ton and low-stretch DTY 150D/48F for 16,800 Yuan/ton and they regulated their acceptance discount.
Although the offering of PTA spot goods in East China buying market fell back to 11,450-11,500 Yuan/ton, the PTA Taiwan cargo is around 1,510 dollars/ton in the selling market and the offering of Korean goods is around 1,500 dollars/ton. In East China home trade market, the MEG offering is around 9,700 Yuan/ton. The mainstream offering of semi-dull and big light polyester chips also stay at 13,600 Yuan/ton and 13,500 Yuan/ton. However, on March.14, influenced by the Japan Earthquakes, the Asia PX price sharply increased 110 dollars to 1,762 dollars FOB Korea, and the European PX dropped 1 dollar to 1,780 dollars FOB Rotterdam. Therefore, in my opinion, affected by the above-mentioned factor, the upstream polyester material will change the weak trend and the production-marketing of the polyester yarn will rise.
