-Short of Demand, the Polyester Price Is Decreasing

Because of the bad production-marketing, the stock pressure of the manufacturers from the polyester yarn is obvious. A manufacturer in Shengze reduced the price of POY products by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 75D/144F for 17,900 Yuan/ton, POY 150D/144F for 17,900 and 15,800 Yuan/ton. Reduced DTY price by 100-200 Yuan/ton, and they quoted low-stretch DTY 75D/36F for 20,500 Yuan/ton, DTY 75D/72F 20,700 Yuan/ton and 75D/144F 21,200 Yuan/ton. Reduced FDY price by 100-200 Yuan/ton, and now they quoted FDY 75D/36F, 75D/72F and 50D/48F for 17,500 Yuan/ton, 17,800 Yuan/ton and 19,400 Yuan/ton separately. Another manufacturer stabilized the quotations, and now they quoted semi-dull FDY 75D/72F, 75D/144F, 50D/72F, 68D/24Ffor 17,800 Yuan/ton, 17,900 Yuan/ton, 20,100 Yuan/ton and 18,200 Yuan/ton separately. Light FDY 40D/24F is quoted for 19,700 Yuan/ton; light-web DTY 75D/72F is quoted 21,100 Yuan/ton and heavy-web 75D/36F is quoted 21,400 Yuan/ton. The core of polyester price also dropped down in Taicang. One of the mainstream manufacturers reduced the quotation of part products by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 75D/72F 17,650 Yuan/ton and FDY 50D/24F 18,900 Yuan/ton.

The polyester price showed a decreasing tendency in Zhejiang Market. A local POY manufacturer in Xiao Shan reduced the quotation generally by 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 150D/144F 14,960 Yuan/ton. Another manufacturer in Xiao Shan kept the previous quotation and quoted FDY 66D/24Ffor 17,800 Yuan/ton and FDY 100D/72F 15,800 Yuan/ton. The other manufacturer in Xiao Shan also unchanged the quotation who quoted OIY 75D/72F 17,100 Yuan/ton. The polyester quotation became weak in Tong Xiang. A local manufacturer reduced the POY price by 100 Yuan/ton generally, and now they quoted POY 150D/144F for 15,500 Yuan/ton.

The PTA price in the spot market keeps growing. The offering of PTA in East China buying market increased to 11,700 Yuan/ton. In the selling market, the offering of Taiwan goods increased to 1,530 dollars/ton-1,535 dollars/ton and the Korean goods offering increased to 1,520 dollars/ton. The market quotation in MEG buying market stays at 9,650 Yuan/ton. The closing price of spot exchange of semi-dull and light chips in Jiangsu-Zhejiang market stays at 13,700 Yuan/ton with acceptance and delivery and 13,600 Yuan/ton separately. Although the upstream material price is still at a high level, the downstream demand is hard to change but keeps weak. Besides, the recent electricity limit policy restricted the sales of polyester yarn in Jiangsu-Zhejiang. Therefore, with the continuous increment of storage, the polyester yarn manufacturers have no option but to reduce the price and make promotions.
