- Manufacturers focus on the selling amount, the prices still keep decreasing

Today’s polyester yarn prices went weak in Jiangsu market. For example, mainstream manufacturers in Shengze continue to decrease the quotations. One local melt spinning manufacturer reduced the prices of DTY products by 100-200 Yuan/ton and decreased the prices of FDY products by 100-300 Yuan/ton and they quoted DTY 75D/144F for 20,400 Yuan/ton and semi-light 40D/24F for 19,700 Yuan/ton. Another full-dull products manufacturer decreased the prices of FDY products by 200 Yuan/ton generally and quoted FDY 48D/48F by 20,900 Yuan/ton. The other direct spinning manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/24F for 17,500 Yuan/ton and DTY 75D/72F for 20,300 Yuan/ton. The manufacturers reported that yesterday’s transaction volumes were few and the production-marketing of the mainstream manufacturers was around 60-70%. The polyester price keeps steady in Taicang. A local manufacturer quoted FDY75D/36F for 16,000 Yuan/ton and POY 75D/72F 17, 250 Yuan/ton by cash remittance.  Yesterday’s production-marketing in Taicang was around 80% and local manufacturers reported that the production-marketing had no big change and they focused on the selling amount. The polyester price keeps unchanged in Zhang Jiagang. Now a local manufacturer quoted light FDY 40D/24F for 18,200 Yuan/ton with a 100-yuan discount in the practical transaction.

The polyester price was mainly steady today in Zhejiang Market. The quotations keep unchanged in Xiao Shan. A local manufacturer stabilized the quotations and quoted FDY 66D/24F for 16,300 Yuan/ton. And other manufacturers also kept the previous quotations and quoted the acceptance price of DTY 150D/288F for 17,600 Yuan/ton. The other mainstream POY manufacturer stabilized the quotations, but stopped the previous privilege measures and now they quoted FDY 75D/36F for 16,000 Yuan/ton. The polyester prices keep steady in Shao Xing. Now a local manufacturer quoted FDY 75D/36F for 16,000 Yuan/ton and the production-marketing was around 80-90%. The polyester prices are stable in Tong Xiang market. A local manufacturer quoted POY 150D/144F for 15,100 Yuan/ton and POY 150D/48F 14,800 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers said the production-marketing was balanced yesterday.

The PTA futures price became increase and the international oil price also began to rebound yesterday. Moreover, the production-marketing of the mainstream manufacturers began to rise back yesterday in Jiangsu-Zhejiang market and some of the manufacturers canceled the previous incentives. It can be concluded that the downstream market has already accepted the present prices. Therefore, I think the polyester price has entered the adjusting period and the polyester manufacturers will mainly focus on the selling amount.
