May 25th, 2011 Daily Review on Polyester Prices

 

Upstream: Yesterday, the futures price of light crude oil in New York Commodity Exchange increased 1.89 USD and closed at 99.59 cents, and the growth rate was 1.9%. The PX price in Asia dropped 5 cents to 1,492 USD/Ton (FOB Korean), and the PX price in Europe was still 1,546 USD/Ton (FOB Rotterdam).

 

PTA: Today, the PTA price decreased continuously in domestic and overseas market. Taiwan cargo price quoted about 1200 USD/Ton and Korean goods quoted about 1,195 USD/Ton. The domestic suppliers quoted about 9,600 Yuan/Ton. The market atmosphere is not active and the negotiation is rare.

 

MEG: Today, the MEG price is consolidated. In domestic market, several suppliers quoted about 8,700-8,750 Yuan/Ton, but the buyers’ purchasing intension is rare. In overseas market, some suppliers quoted about 1,120 USD/Ton.

 

Downstream: The main price of semi-dull polyester chips is about 11,750-11,800 Yuan/Ton. The price of polyester bottle chips in domestic market is about 12,200-12,300 Yuan/Ton, the market atmosphere is normal and the practical negotiation is rare. The PSF price dropped slightly, the direct spinning PSF 1.4D*38mm dropped to 12,550-12,650 Yuan/Ton.
