The Import Value of Apparels Increased 62% in China on Jan to April

The import value of apparels is increasing rapidly in China. The main import support is luxury and it shows the purchasing power increased. Meantime, the import value of countries whose labor cost lower than China, take Vietnam for example, increasing apparently.
According to the data from the Customs, from Jan to April, 2011, the import value of apparels in China increased 62% to 1.05799 billion USD.
The biggest supply country is Italy, and China imported 0.19777 billion USD from Italy, which increased 66% year on year. In addition, the import value from ASEAN doubled to 0.12986 billion USD, among which the import value from Vietnam increased 2.7 times to 36, 58 million USD. Last year, the implement of FTA also impacted the importation in China.
