The imports of cotton yarn drops slightly

The import volume of textiles and garments reached 26.55 billion dollars in 2014, which slid 1.7% year-on-year. Among which, the import volume of cotton yarn was about 6.23 billion dollars, which accounted for 23.5% of total import of textiles and garments. According to the latest statistical data from State Statistics Bureau, the imports of cotton yarn showed increasing tendency gradually since 2008 to 2013, the import volume was about 3.41 billion dollars in 2011, 4.96 billion dollars in 2012, which increased 45.3%. And the import volume was about 6.82 billion dollars in 2013, which went up 37.5% year-on-year. However, the imports of cotton yarn declined in 2014, the total value was 6.23 billion dollars, which slid 8.7% year-on-year.
