The Domestic Cotton Output may Reach 7,380,000 tons

    It is estimated by China Cotton Association that the domestic cotton output will reach 7,380,000 tons in 2011 cotton year (from Sep, 2011 to August, 2012), which increased 11% year on year.
    Gaofang, the vice president and general secretary of CCA said since the cotton sewed to the late August, the climate is relatively appropriate, and it is estimated that per unit yield output will better than last year. The climate of Huanghe valley and Xinjiang cotton region is appropriate and the cotton grows well; the climate of Yangtze valley is a bit poor and the per unit yield output in a part of cotton region dropped slightly.
    Gaofang said influenced by the factors of domestic and overseas economic environment condition, the cotton supply and demand, and capital hype and so on, the cotton price increased and dropped dramatically, and the fluctuation range is unprecedented. By the end of March, the government published the cotton temporary purchasing and storage policy, which is benefit to stabilize market expectation, protect cotton famers’ benefit and ensure the market supply. By the end of August, the detailed rules of the temporary purchasing and storage policy will be published and its stabilizer role will appear, leading to the stable cotton price.
