Oct 11th, 2011 Daily Review on Polyester Prices

Upstream market: Ended by the close on October 11, the futures price of light crude oil delivered by November increased 40 cents to 85.81 dollars; the increasing rate was 0.47%.

PTA: The PTA price continues to increase in overseas market today. The Taiwan cargo is quoted 1260-1270 dollars/ton in the market. The downstream bidding price is around 1240 dollars/ton and the practical discussions are around 1245-1250 dollars/ton.

PET Bottle Chips: The polyester bottle chips price slightly increased in domestic market. Leading bottle chips manufacturers quoted 12600-12800 Yuan/ton by cash but without delivery. The downstream bidding price is around 12500 Yuan/ton and the practical discussions are around 12500-12600 Yuan/ton. The trading atmosphere is good and practical discussions are rare.

PSF: The polyester staple fiber continues to be stable in East China; among which, 1.4D*38mm direct spinning PSF is quoted 13100-13200 Yuan/ton.

PFY: The polyester yarn price is stable in Jiangsu Market. The quotations of leading manufacturers are all stable in Shengze. Now a local melt spinning manufacturer quoted DTY 75D/72F light web for 18900 Yuan/ton. The polyester yarn price is mainly steady in Zhejiang Market. Local manufacturers in Shao Xing stabilized the quotations and now one of them quoted FDY 75D/72F for 15700 Yuan/ton.
