May 16th Daily Review on Polyester Prices

 

VFY:Today the viscose filament yarn goes weak while maintaining the stability. Now the leading negotiating price is around 42,000-46,500 Yuan/ton. The overall demand is general.

Futures:Today PTA futures open slightly higher in Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange. The contract 1209 opens at 8,130 Yuan/ton, which increases 16 Yuan/ton compared with the closing price of previous trading day. In addition,the cotton futures open lower in Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange. The contract 1209 opens at 19,185 Yuan/ton, which drops 10 Yuan/ton compared with the closing price of previous trading day.

PTA:Today PTA price continues to slide in China. The quotation of the supplier is around 8,400-8,450 Yuan/ton. The downstream bidding price is around 8,300-8,350Yuan/ton and the actual negotiating price is around 8,350-8,400 Yuan/ton. The trading atmosphere is mild and there are little transactions.

PFY:Today the price of polyester filament yarn is still in a stalemate in China-Shaoxing. Now the cash quotation of FDY75D/36F is 12,210 Yuan/ton in a local leading manufacturer, FDY100D/48F is 11,910 Yuan/ton and bright FDY75D is 12,100 Yuan/ton. The manufacturers reflected that the downstream wait-and-see mood was serious and the production and marketing was weak.
