The Exports of Pure Silk in China Declined 10.78% in Q1

168tex News: In the first quarter of this year, the total exports of pure silk in China reached 759 million dollars, which dropped 10.78% year-on-year. The main export market was still the United States, India, Italy, Japan and Hong Kong, which accounted for the proportion of total exports respectively 19.6%, 10.82%, 9.69%, 9.63% and 7.92%. The top five provinces and cities of the export volume were Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shanghai and Sichuan. The export volume was 294 million dollars in Zhejiang, reduced 12.11% year-on-year, it was 108 million dollars in Jiangsu, declined 15%, it was 104 million dollars in Guangdong, fell 21.62%, it was 70.791 million dollars in Shanghai, slid 8.18%, and it was 57.028 million dollars in Sichuan, glided 4.39% year-on-year.
Due to the burden of European debt crisis, the global economy continued to be sluggish, the purchasing power in the market declined and the demands for real silk continued to be contracted. China exported 271 million dollars of real silk in March, which declined 3.58% year-on-year.
