China Imported 510,000 tons of Cotton in Apr. 2012

168tex News: The number of imported cotton in China continued to be on the high side in Apr. 2012, while it decreased compared with last month and the average price increased slightly. According to the customs statistics, China imported 509,700 tons of cotton in Apr. 2012, which reduced 115,500 tons compared with last month and fell to 18.50%, an increase of 299,200 tons year-on-year and up 142.2%. The average price of imported was 2,378 dollars/ton, which increased 48 dollars/ton compared with Mar. and rose to 2.1%, a decrease of 24.9% year-on-year.
In addition, China imported 3.75 million tons of cotton from Sep. 2011 to Apr. 2012, which increased 92.6% year-on-year. The total volume of imported in the first four months of 2012 reached 2.077 million tons, an increase of 95.5% year-on-year.
