May 25th Daily Review on Polyester Prices

 

PTA: Today the price of PTA goes weak in North China. The market quotations are around 8,350-8,400 Yuan/ton, the bidding prices of downstream manufactures are about 8,250 Yuan/ton and the practical discussions are near by 8,300-8,350 Yuan/ton. The trading atmosphere is cold and with limited practical negotiations.

Futures: Today PTA futures open slightly higher in China-Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, the contract 1209 opens at 8,020 Yuan/ton, increases 50 Yuan/ton compared with the closing price of previous trading day. In addition, the cotton futures also open slightly higher, now the contract 1209 opens at 18,875 Yuan/ton, up 95 Yuan/ton compared to the closing price of previous trading day.

PFY: Today the price of polyester yarn goes weak in Shaoxing, China. Some products fall down 200 Yuan/ton in a local leading manufacturer, and others are unchangeable. Such as the quotation of FDY120D/36F falls to 10,810 Yuan/ton, the cash quotation of bright FDY75D is 11,800 Yuan/ton and the semi-bright FDY75D/36F is 11,900 Yuan/ton.

PET Bottle Chips: Today the prices of PET bottle chips are consolidated by weakness in China. The leading bottle manufacturer quotes the goods for 10,600 Yuan/ton, the bidding prices of downstream manufacturer are about 10,450-10,500 Yuan/ton, and the practical discussions are around 10,500-10,550 Yuan/ton. The trading atmosphere is cold and with limited negotiations.
