The Brief Report of Silk Exportation from Jan. to Nov. in 2010

    It is estimated by the Customs that the silk exportation is 2905 million USD, which increased 11.82% year on year, and drove by the promotion of export price.

    The top five markets of silk exportation are the USA, Indian, Italy, Pakistan, and Japan.

    The main products exported towards Italy are grey silk (money accounted for 47.84%), silk apparel (money accounted for 24.01%), and natural silk products (money accounted for 17.65%). The price of main products increased over 15%. In the export volume aspect, only silk apparel reduced by 7.85%, others all increased and the grey silk increased by 32.92%. The big growth towards Italy thanks to the demand of restocking and the low basic value in first half year.

    Second, overall export promotion of main provinces, and Jiangsu province increased largest, which has reach 20.04%.

    The top five provinces of export value are Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shanghai, and Sichuan.

    The export value of Jiangsu is 429 million USD, which accounted for 14.77% in market, and the main export products are natural silk, silk apparel and grey silk.

    Because the price rose generally, the export volume of natural silk and silk apparel reduced separately 6.04% and 1.32%. But the drop was the smallest in the main provinces, and the grey silk increased 19.81%, which is bigger, so its overall export value is the biggest.

    From Jan. to Nov, natural silk exported 17.4 thousand ton, reduced 14.83% year on year; the average unit price is ＄32.74/kg, increased 42.9% year on year. The silk apparel exported 71.68 million pieces, reduced 9.38% year on year; the average unit price is ＄14.09/piece, increased 6.75% year on year. The pure silk exported 245 million meters, increased 1.94% year on year; the average unit price is ＄3.6/meter, increased 23.03% year on year.
