Today, the polyester yarn price keeps increasing in Shengze, China. A local mainstream direct spinning manufacturer reported that POY increased 100 Yuan/ton generally, FDY increased 200-800 Yuan/ton and DTY unchanged. Now they quoted FDY 50D/48F 19, 000 Yuan/ton (Six-Month Acceptance) and FDY 75D/44F 17, 000 Yuan/ton; POY 150D/144F was 15, 000 Yuan/ton, low-stretch DTY 75D/72F 20, 300 Yuan/ton and micro-web DTY 75D/144F 20, 600 Yuan/ton. Another local manufacturer reported that some specifications of FDY increased 100-200 Yuan/ton and some of DTY increased 100 Yuan/ton. Now the dull FDY 75D/72F was quoted 20, 100 Yuan/ton, dull FDY 48D/48F 19, 000 Yuan/ton, and dull POY 50D/72F 18, 800 Yuan/ton; and dull POY 75D/72F acceptance price was 17, 400 Yuan/ton. The other local melt spinning factory’s quotation keeps unchanged. Because of the heavy snow today, the traffic is blocked and the market trading will be greatly affected. The polyester yarn price in Taicang keeps stable today. The local polyester yarn manufacturers reported that FDY increased 300-500 Yuan/ton and POY increased 100 Yuan/ton. Now a local manufacturer quoted that FDY 50D/24F was 18, 650 Yuan/ton (Three-month Acceptance) and the acceptance price of POY 75D/72F was 16, 350 Yuan/ton. The downstream inquiry atmosphere is good, but the production and marketing keeps around 70%.
Today one of the local mainstream polyester yarn manufacturers reported a 100-Yuan common increase of DTY in Xiao Shan, China. Now the light-web DTY 75D/72F was quoted 19, 800 Yuan/ton; low-stretch DTY 150D/48F was 16, 400 Yuan/ton and micro-web DTY 150D/144F was 16, 400 Yuan/ton. The manufacturer said that production and marketing was balanced yesterday and their storage was not large which has 7-8 days’ amount. Another POY manufacturer reported a 100-Yuan common increase. Now they quoted POY 150D/144F 14, 300 Yuan/ton (by cash) and their sales was good yesterday. The polyester yarn price keeps unchanged in Tongxiang, China. The mainstream polyester yarn manufacturers’ quotations are steady. Now they quoted POY 150D/48F 13, 800 Yuan/ton and DTY 150D/48F 15, 300 Yuan/ton.
At present, the PTA futures has rushed to 11, 000 Yuan high level, and the crude oil futures stays around 90 dollars/drum. Besides, the bad weather affected the delivery speed of the polyester yarn in Jiangsu-Zhejiang area, and the low temperature also made a lot of weaving factories take holidays ahead of schedule. However, the increased cost, the low stock pressure and the continuous short supply-demand, are all affecting the price of polyester yarn which will keep increasing in a short term.
