China Drive Growth of Demand for Nylon in the World

      It is estimated by CMAI that the large demand of China for nylon 6 was driving the growth of demand for the engineering polymers market. It is estimated that the average annual growth speed of demand will reach 5% in the world by 2015.

      CMAI said that the growth trend of demand for nylon 6 has formed in recent years, and because the productions of end products were transferred from North America and other areas to China, Northeast Asia became the biggest customer market.

      CMAI pointed that during the financial crisis period, Chinese government once issued measures to promote the domestic demand for durable goods, so as to ease the influence of economic recession.

      CMAI said that the demand for nylon 6 in China has grew quicker than the growth of production capacity and lead to a lot of importation for nylon 6 from foreign countries in China.

      It is estimated that the average annual growth speed of demand for nylon 66 would reach 6% by 2015.

      Newly increased production capacity will have market, if the supply of middle material is available.

      In 2010, the supply of nylon 66 is restricted by the lack of raw material, including the butadiene and other materials.

      CMAI said that the demand and production capability of nylon 66 are basically balance in 2010, not like the big gap of nylon 6.
