The polyester price kept stable at the first day after Spring Festival. The quotations of the local polyester manufacturers kept stable too. However, there was a 600- Yuan/ton common increase during the holidays, and some specific products increased 1000-2000 Yuan/ton. Now a direct spinning manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/48F for 19, 600 Yuan/ton (6 Month Acceptance). Another melt spinning manufacturer quoted light FDY 75D/36F for 19, 000 Yuan/ton and DTY 75D/72F 21, 300 Yuan/ton. The other local full-dull manufacturer quoted FDY 40D/48F for 21, 100 Yuan/ton. The manufacturer reported that their storage was not big. The polyester price kept stable in Taicang, China. The local manufactures’ quotations remained unchanged. However, the price generally increased 500- 600 Yuan/ton during the Festival. Now the FDY 50D/24F was quoted 18, 900 Yuan/ton (Spot Exchange); and POY 75D/72F was quoted 17, 350 Yuan/ton (Spot Exchange). The manufacturers reported the sales was good and the storage was less than two-week amount.
The polyester price steadily increased in Xiao-Shao Market, China. The quotations of some manufacturers who greatly raised the price previously kept stable, and only who had a slight price increase previously kept raising their quotations moderately. For example, a manufacturer reported a 200- Yuan/ton general increase in Xiao Shan, China. Now they quoted POY 150D/96F for 14, 600 Yuan/ton and the black yarn FDY 150D/96F was quoted at 16, 550 Yuan/ton. Another mainstream POY manufacturer stabilized the quotations. Now they quoted POY 75D/72F for 16, 750 Yuan/ton. One FDY manufacturer in Shao Xing, China reported a 300-Yuan/ton common increased and they quoted FDY 50D for 18, 600 Yuan/ton. The polyester price kept stable in Tong Xiang, China. However, there was a 500- Yuan/ton up-and-down increase during the Festival. Now a local manufacturer quoted POY 150D/48F for 14, 550 Yuan/ton.
Although the crude oil price fell back a little, the upstream raw material price was still in consolidation at a high level. In the PTA import spot market, the Taiwan goods’ offering was around 1, 440 dollars/ton and the Koreas goods’ was around 1, 400 dollars/ton. In the PTA East China home trade market, the PTA offering was around 11, 200 Yuan/ton, whose practical negotiated price was around 11, 100 Yuan/ton. The semi-dull chips’ mainstream market quotation was 13, 500 Yuan/ton (Cash Acceptance) in Jiangsu-Zhejiang, China. Moreover, the raw material manufacturers think highly of the afternoon market, and they predict that the demands for the raw material will still be high, so the price will only increase other than decrease.
