The Polyester Yarn Price Is Weakly Consolidating In Jiangsu-Zhejiang (2011-2-16)

The polyester yarn price is mainly steady. Local mainstream polyester yarn manufacturers’ quotations keep stable. One local direct spinning manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/48F for 19, 600 Yuan/ton (6 Months Acceptance). Another local melt spinning manufacturer quoted FDY 75D/36F for 19, 000 Yuan/ton. And the other manufacturer quoted spot exchange of FDY 50D/48F for 19, 000 Yuan/ton and light FDY 40D/24F 19, 700 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers said the wait-see attitude was thick in the downstream and production-marketing was dull. The polyester yarn price remains steady in Taicang, China. One local mainstream manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/24F for 18, 900 Yuan/ton (Spot Exchange) and POY 75D/72F is quoted 17, 350 Yuan/ton (Spot Exchange). Manufacturers said the early inquiry was flat.

The polyester yarn price goes stable basically in Xiao-Shao Market, Chin. A local POY manufacturer who reported that POY generally dropped 150 Yuan/ton yesterday continued to decrease the price for 100 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 75D/144F for 17,260 Yuan/ton. Other mainstream POY manufacturers’ quotations are mainly stable. Manufacturers said the sales was flat and the wait-see attitude was thick in the downstream. The local mainstream manufacturers don’t change quotations in Shao Xing, China. The polyester yarn price continues to be steady in Tong Xiang, China. Now a local manufacturer quoted low-stretch DTY 150D/48F for 16, 300 Yuan/ton. And another manufacturer quoted POY 75D/72F for 16,750 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers said the downstream market is still holding a strong wait-see attitude.

Although the crude oil price’s decrease yesterday affected the quotations in PTA spot market in East China, which dropped down to 11, 700 Yuan/ton now; the practical negotiated price is around 11, 600 Yuan/ton; and the outskirt offering of PTA Taiwan goods is down to 1, 470 dollars/ton, the upstream polyester price is still firm. On Feb 15^th, Asian PX price increased 17 dollars to 1653 dollars FOB Korea; European PX price increased 3 dollars to 1746 dollars FOB Rotterdam. While Sinopec officially regulated up the contract price of polyester chips in February. Semi-dull, light and industrial yarn chips are quoted 13, 700 Yuan/ton; full-dull chips is 14, 500 Yuan/ton which increased 400 Yuan/ton compared with it before. Influenced by this, the spot exchange price of semi-dull polyester chips in Jiangsu-Zhejiang Market stays around 13,600 Yuan/ton. Therefore, although the polyester yarn manufacturers’ storage is increasing and the downstream demand is still low, I don’t think there will be great space for the polyester yarn price to drop down.
