The Importation of Cotton Yarns in Japan Increased 8% in 2010

The Japan Spinning Association reported that Japan's importation of cotton yarns increased 8.1% in 2010 year on year and reached 250639 bales. The recovery was small because the importation level which influenced by the financial crisis fell to the lowest point in the history. It is indicated that the distribution of cotton yarns decreased in Japan.
Judging by the importing countries,Japan's importation of cotton yarns from Pakistan decreased 31.7% which fell to 61732 bales; but its import volumes from Indonesia, India and Thailand increased obviously. Especially in last year, Indonesia became the largest supply country to Japan, and the import volume increased from 56274 bales in 2009 to 83627 bales.
The import volumes of combed yarns increased 20.5% and reached147280 bales; the blending yarns increased 10.6% and reached 31791 bales.
