The polyester yarn price continues to be in consolidation today in Shengze, China. Local mainstream polyester yarn manufacturers’ quotations keep stable. A local melt spinning manufacturer quoted FDY 75D/36F for 19, 000 Yuan/ton. Another local direct spinning manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/48F for 19, 600 Yuan/ton (6 Months Acceptance). And the other manufacturer quoted spot exchange of FDY 50D/48F for 19, 000 Yuan/ton and light FDY 40D/24F 19, 700 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers said the sales were ordinary and the production-marketing was around 40-50%. The polyester yarn price remains steady in Taicang, China. One local mainstream manufacturer quoted FDY 50D/24F for 18, 900 Yuan/ton (Spot Exchange) and POY 75D/72F is quoted 17, 350 Yuan/ton (Spot Exchange). Manufacturers said the early inquiry was flat.
The polyester yarn price is mainly consolidating in Xiao-Shao Market, China; only parts of the manufacturers regulate the price. A local POY manufacturer who reported that POY generally dropped 100 Yuan/ton yesterday contrarily increased the price for 150 Yuan/ton. Now they quoted POY 75D/144F for 17,310 Yuan/ton. While another manufacturer also increased 100 Yuan/ton, and other manufacturers’ quotations unchanged the quotation. However, the price in Shao Xing Market, China is mainly steady. The polyester yarn price continues to consolidate in Tong Xiang, China. Now a local manufacturer quoted low-stretch DTY 150D/48F for 16, 300 Yuan/ton. And another manufacturer quoted POY 75D/72F for 16,750 Yuan/ton. Manufacturers said the production-marketing was ordinary and the storage grew obviously.
See from the upstream raw material market, instead of dropping, the prices in the PTA spot market rebounded yesterday. Among these, the quotation of PTA spot market in East China increased 150 Yuan/ton to 11850-11900 Yuan/ton; and the practical negotiated price is around 11,750-11,800Yuan/ton. The outskirt offering of PTA Taiwan goods increased 25 dollars/ton to 1,495-1,500dollars/ton; and the Korean goods increased 20 dollars/ton to 1480-1485 dollars/ton. The mainstream quotation of MEG in East China home trade market is around 9950 Yuan/ton and the negotiated price is predicted around 9,900 Yuan/ton. However, the spot exchange price of semi-dull chips in Jiangsu-Zhejiang stays at 13,600 Yuan/ton with 3-month Acceptance and delivery. The light chips’ spot exchange price is around 13,500 Yuan/ton within 3 months for a short-trip delivery. Therefore, if calculated according to the present polyester material cost, the rough denier FDY and POY in the chemical fiber factories has already been at a loss side. Although the polyester manufacturers’ storage is increasing, with the cost’s support, I don’t think the polyester yarn price will drop easily in a short term.
