Nantong Port Imported Over 15000 Tons Cottons On Jan

It is estimated by Nantong Entry and Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau that Nantong Port imported 48 batches, 73172 pieces, 15783 tons and 34.4 million USD on Jan, which has reached a new record of import cottons monthly.
It is analyzed that reasons of the dramatically cotton importing growths in Nantong area are as follows: first, though influenced by the financial crisis, the textile industry still remains continuous growth. The quality and benefit increased stably and the structural transformation and promotion are effective. The total industry profit rate and total assets contribution rate are separately 5.44% and 13.89%; second, Nantong expanded its cotton brand influence through three cotton forums and the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the Customs and the port cooperated to improve services. Nantong bonded cotton industry developed rapidly, and several famous international cotton traders and domestic cotton corporations went to Nantong for trading; third, from 2010 to 2011, it is thought that the contradiction between supply and demand of domestic cotton would still obvious, especially the domestic advanced cotton demand is large and imported cottons are still first choices of many textiles corporations; fourth, the index within the quota in 2010 will be checked in the end of Feb, and it is estimated that Nantong Port will import large amount of cotton on Feb.
